Elaine Craig - Office Manager
I’m a Peru native and Peru High School graduate with a background in journalism, retail management, education, and customer service. I’ve worked as a photographer, editor, bookstore and library staff, and served at Ivy Tech and local businesses. I’m a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where I’ve sung in the choir and served as an elder. As Office Manager at Main Street UMC, I now use my diverse experience to serve my hometown community.

I began attending Main Street regularly in 2001, drawn by fond memories from youth group in the ’80s. When searching for a church for my family, Main Street felt like home. I’ve since volunteered for youth events and VBS, and became youth director in 2016. I’ve taught Head Start at South Peru Early Childhood Center for over 25 years. Married to Kevin for 30+ years, we have three grown children, two cats, six grand dogs, and a grandcat.
Nancy Huskey - Music Director
God has guided me through life’s hardest moments, including the loss of my parents and first husband. I believe He brought Leon and me together when we needed each other most. I strive to live by Jesus’ example, even if imperfectly. Music is both my passion and profession—I hold two music degrees and teach piano and early childhood music. I cherish my blended family and feel deeply fulfilled serving with the choir, bells, and children at Main Street UMC.
Kay Weideman - Pianist / Vocalist
I grew up on a small farm in Central Illinois, the sixth of seven children, and began piano lessons at age five—music has been my lifelong passion. I’m now a worship leader, choir member, and part of the bell choir. I retired in 2023 after working as a secretary/office manager. Widowed after 50 years of marriage, I’m blessed with a large, loving family. Though always active in church, my personal relationship with Jesus deepened later in life.
Cami Walters - Preschool Director
Hi, I’m Cami, and I’ve been the director and teacher at Main Street Preschool since 2012. I hold degrees in Psychology and Elementary Education. Before joining Main Street, I taught at Noah’s Nursery for eight years. My husband Mike and I have lived in Peru since 2002 and have two children, Elsie and Eli. I love working with preschoolers—their honesty and emotions are refreshing. I believe I was called to this role to support their social and emotional growth.
Rhonda Butzin - Preschool

Hi, I’m Rhonda, an assistant preschool teacher and the Ladybug Teacher at Main Street Preschool since 2014. I love working with young children and feel honored to be part of their growth. Before this, I spent 26 years in the medical field assisting patients and doctors. My husband, Herman, and I have been married over 12 years. I’m a proud mom to three boys and grandma to three grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Patience, love, and flexibility are key in this work!
Jessica Rasmussen - Preschool Teacher
Hi, I’m Jessica, an assistant teacher at Main Street Preschool. My husband, Brent, and I have been married for over 16 years and have two children, Mason and Kaylee, along with two dogs. I love working here—our kids and parents are truly the best! Before joining Main Street, I spent nine years at Noah’s Nursery daycare. Working with children has always been my passion, and I enjoy watching them grow, learn, and discover the world around them.
Ashley Maxwell - Preschool

Hi, I’m Ashley, an assistant teacher at Main Street Preschool since September 2024. My husband, Kenneth, and I have been married for over eight years and have three wonderful daughters—Kyndrah, Cynthia, and Alyssah—along with one dog and two cats. I love spending time with my family, especially playing games and cheering on my girls at their sports events. I’m excited to be part of the Main Street team and enjoy helping young children learn and grow.
