Main Street Preschool

At Main Street Preschool, our mission is to provide a nurturing environment where children can grow spiritually by learning God’s word, as well as develop intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally through our curriculum and enriching activities. We also strive to support and encourage parents and guardians by offering spiritual guidance, helpful resources, and ongoing communication.

Our curriculum includes Heggerty, a Phonemic Awareness program with daily lessons designed for our pre-k classes. We also use Scholastic, which provides monthly magazines, worksheets, and enrichment activities. To help children develop proper handwriting skills, we implement Handwriting Without Tears. Additionally, our pre-k classes enjoy Kindermusik with Nancy Spahr Husky twice a month. We also utilize a smart board for interactive learning during daily activities. Alongside academics, we focus on helping children develop social skills such as sharing and taking turns.

Main Street Preschool offers four classes:

  • Preschool Classes (Ages 3-4):

    • The Bees: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30-11:30 a.m.
    • The Ladybugs: Wednesdays and Fridays, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

(We follow an August 1st cutoff date, which aligns with local schools.)

  • Pre-Kindergarten Classes (for children entering kindergarten the following year):

    • The Owls: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8:00 a.m. – Noon
    • The Butterflies: Monday through Friday, 12:30-3:00 p.m.

Throughout the school year, we take several exciting field trips, including visits to the local apple orchard, pumpkin patch, library, and greenhouses. These trips are a highlight of the year for our preschoolers!

We look forward to partnering with you to help your child grow and thrive in a loving, faith-filled environment.
